Heron's Landing on Otter Lake is a brand new and beautiful furnished family cottage near Parry Sound, perfect for a family get away! This beautiful, large 3 bedroom property is located on 5 acres of land, nestled in lush privacy in a quiet bay, perched above the clear waters of Otter Lake. The cottage sits on an expansive point of land overlooking 755 feet of shoreline with sun all day at various points on the property.
A four-season cottage with a large living room combined with an open concept kitchen and dining area looking out over the lake. Family dinners or gatherings can be enjoyed inside at the dining room table, outside on the spacious front deck, or out on the picnic table in the gazebo. For relaxation, there is the quintessential and inviting four season Muskoka room overlooking the lake. The great room is the pièce de resistance with its vaulted pine ceilings and spectacular lake views. Although the interior is open and bright, the large walk-out front deck beckons to be enjoyed morning, noon or night.
A gentle sloping pathway leads down to the dock where you will find the perfect quiet view of the lake on the large deck, or on the dock itself. It is made for enjoying sunrises or taking in the sunsets while being lulled to sleep by the haunting call of the loon. The exposure on the dock ensures plenty of sunshine to pass away the hours lounging or swimming off the end into the clear waters. A rocky and sandy shoreline allows a more gradual entry into the lake, but water shoes would be recommended. If a beach is preferred, a short boat ride to Little Otter Lake provides access to a sandy public beach, perfect for the younger children to splash around in as the water is shallow and the sand is hard packed. But for those that just want to chill and catch up on a great novel, tuck away into one of the Muskoka chairs or a hammock on the property, take in the great views of the lake and while away the afternoon.
In the afternoon, the sun hits the rear of the cottage while the front deck becomes shaded for comfort. Outdoor games become a favourite activity in the open rear space behind the cottage. The treed back lot provides room for youngsters to explore nature and wildlife.
Evenings provide time for the family to enjoy a meal together in the open concept dining area, whether it is prepared in the beautiful kitchen, or on the barbeque. Board games, quiet reading time, sitting by a fire on cool nights, or spreading out to the great room, the basement games area, or the Muskoka room all provide plenty of opportunities to enjoy private time or the company or others.
For a change of pace, experience a casual or elegant evening of fine dining at Grand Tapatoo Resort, named in honour of local Indian lore, built in the location of a former Boy Scout Camp on the lake. The resort is only a short 5 minute boat ride away, or 10 minutes by car.
This cottage is sure to please the entire family. Kick back, relax and enjoy cottage life, and become re-acquainted with your family…and yourself. It is the perfect meeting spot for your family to catch up and spend some quality time together creating your own fond memories. But the true treasure of cottage country is its cloudless nights, when the sky fills with a blanket of stars and you roast marshmallows around the fire pit gazing up into the endless Milky Way, a site rarely experienced in the city!
